Uzbekistan is increasingly emerging as an important destination on the global tourism map.

This issue was raised during discussions on Uzbekistan’s tourism development strategy.

To strengthen international cooperation and promote the tourism potential of Jizzakh region, an information tour was organized for a delegation from Bahrain, comprising prominent journalists, bloggers, and influencers.

Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, together with the country’s tourism companies, organized a national stand at the World Islamic Tourism and Trade Exhibition (WITEX), held in Selangor, Malaysia.

Since gaining independence in 1991, Uzbekistan has undergone a profound transformation – from a closed post-Soviet state to a dynamically developing country confidently entering the world stage, including in the field of tourism.

According to the National Statistics Committee, almost 5,000 citizens of Uzbekistan traveled to Malaysia for tourism purposes in January-June 2025.

In the village of Sangardak in Surkhandarya region, widely known for its stunning waterfall, construction has already started on another modern tourist complex. The project was developed by the Austrian company INPUT Projektentwicklungs-GmbH.

As part of the Samarkand Pilaf International Gastronomic Festival, a pilaf weighing 7 tons was prepared on the territory of the Eternal City Complex of the Silk Road Samarkand International Tourist Center.

In recent years, thanks to the development of modern infrastructure meeting international standards, the city of Samarkand has become a regular venue for high-level events – summits, international conferences, and congresses.

The rich cultural and historical legacy of ancient and eternally young Bukhara and its magnificent monuments and shrines, which preserve the secrets of centuries-old history, have always fascinated tourists.
