On February 21-23, Bukhara will host the first International Forum on Pilgrimage Tourism.
The event is among the top five tourism exhibitions worldwide and annually attracts more than 50,000 professionals in this industry.
On January 21, 2019, the 18th Congress of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) kicked off in Tbilisi. The Congress brought together more than 100 experts in the field of tourism, guides and tour operators from more than 60 countries of the world. Uzbekistan attends this event for the first time.
Nowadays, Uzbekistan is taking bold actions to simplify travel procedures up to introducing of visa-free regimes aimed at embracing the potential of tourism industry.
Effective from 1 February 2019, a visa-free regime for a period of 30 days will be introduced for citizens of 45 countries.
On February 21-23, Uzbekistan will host the first International Forum on ziyorat-tourism (pilgrimage tourism). The organizers of the forum are the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, khokimiyats of Bukhara and Samarkand regions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Committee on Religious Affairs with the assistance of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted this at the selector meeting devoted to issues of implementation of investment projects, held on January 8.
On January 5, 2019 a ceremony on signing of the agreement on the involvement of the Belgian consultant by the Uzbek company «Asia tour Elite» for the implementation of the project «Zangiata thermal health complex» took place at the Embassy of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries.
Additional visa-free regime is established for 45 countries for 30 days from the date of entry into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of February 1, 2019.
An international scientific-practical conference on “Problems and prospects for development of tourism among socially vulnerable groups of the population” was held at Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service.
