The number of visits by foreign citizens to Uzbekistan for the first 9 months of 2018 increased to 3.9 million visitors, compared to 1.9 million people in the same period of 2017. However, the results can and should be better. Such a conclusion can be made on the fact that on November 2, 2018, the order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On the creation of a group to study the issues of accelerated development of the tourism industry”, which has already identified ways of further development of the industry.
