The role of non-governmental non-profit organizations and civil society institutions, whose activities are aimed at ensuring the interests of broad sections of the population, has increased in the process of further deepening democratic reforms and development of civil society in Uzbekistan today. In this regard the most important and national democratic institution of civil society in Uzbekistan is makhalla, which has been considered to be a unique institution that combines the lowest and regional branches of self-government in the country.
With the support of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the University of Bristol (United Kingdom).
The International Legal Forum “Tashkent Law Spring” will be held in Tashkent on April 25-27, 2019. The Forum is organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of a number of partners.
