At a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, held in Bishkek, it was decided that Samarkand in 2024 will become the cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The proposal of Uzbekistan to hold the 43rd session in 2025 in Samarkand, announced at the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Assembly, was supported. An appropriate decision has been made on this issue.
