On September 20, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting devoted to issues of physical culture and sports development.
At the meeting devoted to physical culture and sports development issues, important tasks for further development of this sphere were identified.
At the meeting devoted to physical culture and sports development issues, instructions were given on increasing the number of sports championships at district, city, regional and republican levels, encouraging winners with cash prizes at the expense of the Youth Union.
At the meeting, held on September 20 under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the fact that due to weak activity of federations it is not possible to achieve good results in international tournaments in equestrian sports, swimming, fencing, shooting and team sports was criticized. In this regard, instructions were given to put into operation until 2020 the Olympic training centers in Samarkand, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Namangan and Tashkent regions, to use China’s experience in their activities, that is, to introduce a system in which athletes train purposefully in the center, constantly living there.
At the meeting dedicated to physical culture and sports development issues, attention was also paid to issues of construction of children’s sports facilities, using modern energy-saving technologies.
On September 21, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed deep condolences to people and leadership of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the passing of President Chiang Dai Kuang.
On September 19, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Major General of the National Guard, Adjutant General of Mississippi Janson D. Boyles and Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Mississippi’s First district Trent Kelly, who are in Uzbekistan on a working visit.
On September 19, 2018, a meeting with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Hadi Soleimanpour, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the International Conference “Central Asia in the system of international transport corridors: strategic perspectives and unrealized opportunities” was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
