«WEEK OF STRENGTHENING NATIONAL VALUES IN MAHALLAS» OF UZBEKISTAN

According to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 2, 2020, March 22 is declared as the Day of employees of the Mahalla System.

In order to widely celebrate this holiday and hold it at a high level, within the framework of the idea «Mahalla is a bright face and a mirror of the conscience of our society» on March 22-28 this year, a «Week of strengthening national values in mahallas» will be organized across the country.

This week, which is being held for the first time in our country, is aimed at strengthening the role of the institution of the mahalla in our society, strengthening the stability of the spiritual environment and interethnic harmony, educating the younger generation in the spirit of devotion to the Motherland, and increasing the effectiveness of social support.

According to the statement of the relevant meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dated March 11, 2021, the events planned for this week are planned to be organized at a high level in 9199 existing mahallas of the country, including border and remote, hard-to-reach and mountainous areas.

Within the framework of the week, the mahallas will host spiritual, educational, cultural events with the participation of representatives of culture, spirituality, literature and art, writers and scientists.

National games, mass sports competitions, contests, charity events with the participation of the population, including elders, women and youth, will be organized.

Undoubtedly, these educational events play an important role in popularizing our national traditions and customs among the population, passing on our intangible cultural heritage to future generations, educating young people in the spirit of national and universal values, and strengthening their sense of community.

According to the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the week, a group of workers of the system who have made a worthy contribution to the development of the industry will be awarded the badge «Mahalla iftikhori».

This award is presented to active, enterprising citizens and representatives of public structures who make a worthy contribution to such noble deeds as ensuring the stability of the spiritual environment in society, strengthening interethnic friendship and solidarity, and educating the younger generation in the spirit of love for the Motherland. This high level of attention undoubtedly contributes to the employees of the sphere to work with more energy and courage.

In particular, measures will be taken to financially and morally stimulate 1704 employees of citizens' gatherings, whose activities in 2020 were recognized as «exemplary» through the rating system, which was introduced as a new system of work.

It has become a good tradition in our country to commission new buildings, cultural, entertainment and social facilities on the eve of national holidays and significant dates.

On the basis of this principle, the newly built complexes «Nuroniylar Maskanlari», «Mahalla Center», «Centers for preparing youth for family life», as well as complexes of citizens' selfgovernment bodies, vocational training institutions, housing for women living in difficult conditions, and other important social facilities in mahallas.

In mahallas, with the participation of representatives of the public, special certificates will be issued to citizens entered in the «Iron Notebook», «Women's Notebook» and «Youth Notebook» and who wish to open their own business. And also job fairs will be organized in mahallas.

Such noble deeds in our country serve to provide social protection, employment, support for business projects of the population, thereby increasing the real income of citizens.

Seminars will be held in districts (cities) to popularize the experience of «exemplary» mahallas, as well as the activities of villages and mahallas that have received the status of «Tourist Village», «Tourist Mahalla» among other citizens' gatherings.

Within the framework of the week, a number of charitable events will be organized on the principle of «mahallabay», such as honoring representatives of the older generation, helping those in need, holding hashars in the homes of low-income families.

There will be a presentation of the book «Mahalla - a bright face and a mirror of our conscience», electronic works of art on the topic «Family, mahalla and gender equality» and electronic manuals on office work at citizens' gatherings.

An online conference «My contribution to the reforms and development of the country» will be organized with the participation of the laureates of the Zulfiya State Prize.

Within the framework of the week, it is planned to prepare and show social videos about the role of the mahalla institution in social support of the population and a number of important topics based on the Media Plan developed to promote local events, as well as publish them on social networks.

It is planned to hold an international scientific and practical conference with the participation of representatives of international organizations and embassies (consulates) of foreign countries in our country on the topic «The role of the mahalla institution in strengthening the family and social support as an important link in civil society».

Within a week, through the official pages of the ministry in social networks among the youth of our country, including young people who have achieved success in various fields, a flash mob will be organized on the theme "My mahalla is my pride", as well as the challenge "Come to our mahalla".

Exhibitions of national products of masters and potters will be organized in mahallas with the involvement of the population. This, in turn, will serve to popularize and preserve handicrafts and folk art among the population, especially among young people, to continue the traditions of teachers and students in this area.

In each district (city) there will be organized contests «The most prosperous street», «The most prosperous multi-storey building», «The cleanest apartment», contests «The book I read», «Mahalla of a healthy lifestyle», a photo contest «My mahalla in my eyes", a chess tournament among representatives of the older generation "Wheel of Mind", as well as events under the motto "Uzbekistan is our common home" aimed at strengthening interethnic friendship and solidarity in mahallas, including exhibitions of applied arts, crafts and costumes of different nationalities.

All citizens' gatherings will host competitions under the slogan «You are the cradle of values, dear mahalla!» 18 national games among youth, girls, women, as well as «Askia Sail».

Under the motto «Family is holy» in each mahalla, members of the "Keksalar Maslahati" and "Buvizhonlar Maktabi" councils, women's advisory councils, members of the Commission for Strengthening Family Values will conduct reconciliation of families on the verge of divorce.

Of course, such events are important for creating a healthy spiritual environment in families, for educating the younger generation of really healthy people.

Within the framework of the week, it is planned to organize mobile theaters, film screenings, as well as book fairs of spiritual and educational significance in each mahalla of the country.

On preferential terms, excursions to shrines will be organized for citizens included in the «Iron Notebook», «Women's Notebook», «Youth Notebook», as well as for low-income and vulnerable elderly people, participants of the World War II and front veterans.

At the initiative of older people, walking tours with the participation of the general public will be organized in mahallas under the motto «Five Thousand Steps to Health».

With the participation of foreign guests, the opening ceremony of a sewing workshop in the «Navruz» mahalla of the Mirzaabad district of the Syrdarya region, a craft center in the mahalla named after Yassavi and the «Beauty Salon» in the Yulduz mahalla of the Gulistan region, built at the expense of a grant provided by the governments of Japan and Canada with the support of the UN Program, in particular, measures will be taken to transfer laptops to exemplary workers of the mahalla system.

As part of these events, a press tour will be organized around these regions with the participation of media representatives and bloggers.

As an experiment, training seminars will be held in 4 mahallas of the Almazar and Shaykhantakhur districts of Tashkent with the aim of organizing a "mahallabai" system of work to train young people in finding solutions to family conflicts, and round tables will be held in 25 mahallas of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district on the topic "Issues of gender equality in system of Uzbekistan».

With the participation of the heads of mahallas and activists in penitentiary institutions, a number of events will be organized to familiarize themselves with the conditions of their fellow villagers who are serving sentences.

In short, this year, «The Week of Strengthening National Values in Mahallas» is also important because it includes a number of important events aimed at transforming the institution of the mahalla, which is a unique social structure of society, into a true companion and supporter of the population, increasing its role and meaning, bringing this structure closer to people and ensuring a healthy and stable social and spiritual environment in society and the family.
