TASHKENT, November 4. /“Dunyo” IA/. The Ministry of Energy hosted a meeting with Ms. Matilda Dimovska, UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The parties discussed the preparations for the 2022 High-Level International Forum on Green Energy in the city of Nukus.
The initiative to hold this forum in cooperation with the UN was put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
The parties expressed interest in cooperation in assessing regulatory aspects and technical capabilities for piloting and subsequent implementation of on-grid solar systems in rural areas of Uzbekistan.
The parties also discussed the prospects for the use of electric buses for public transport, opportunities for cooperation in modeling to assess the socio-economic and environmental impacts and benefits from the green development of the electric power industry.
