Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran railway administrations to implement a pilot project

TASHKENT, May 5. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, delegations of the railway administrations of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran have held a videoconference to consider the current issues of further practical cooperation, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), the parties discussed the implementation of the Protocol of the meeting of the heads of the railway administrations of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran on May 21, 2020.

The parties agreed on the process of accelerating the passage of loaded wagons and the return of empty ones belonging to Uzbekistan Railways from the territory of Iran to the territory of Uzbekistan to increase the volume of cargo transportation.

The participants considered the issues of organizing a pilot train along the corridor “Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Oman” (Ashgabat Agreement), as well as several other issues.
