Uzbekistan, Singapore discuss prospects for building up economic cooperation

SINGAPORE, July 9. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Uzbekistan’s modern economic and investment potential were presented to the President, Board of Directors and premium members of Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI), reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

SMCCI President Farid Khan and other participants highly appreciated the ongoing economic reforms in Uzbekistan. Interest was expressed in participating in projects in preschool education, energy, including renewable energy sources (sun, wind, biomass), ziyorat tourism, production and trade of halal products (meat products, fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits and others) for possible import to Singapore.

Following the event, an agreement was reached on working out the issue of organizing bilateral meetings between representatives of small and medium-sized businesses of the two countries to discuss possible ways of establishing investment cooperation, as well as promoting Uzbekistan export products to Singapore and ASEAN countries.
