Uzbekistan proposes to hold the next meeting of the Council of Elders of OTS in 2023

Bishkek hosts the 13th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

According to Türkiye’s Anadolu Agency, the meeting is attended by the head of the Council Binali Yıldırım, representative of Azerbaijan Gasan Gasanov, representative of Kazakhstan Ikram Adyrbekov, representative of Kyrgyzstan Medetkhan Sherimkulov, representative of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Sayfullayev, representative of Turkmenistan Rejep Bazarov and the OTS Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev, as well as relevant delegations.

Binali Yıldırım noted that the previous meeting was held on February 9 in Istanbul, and the second scheduled meeting was already organized in Kyrgyzstan. He recalled that from September 29 to October 2, the fourth World Nomad Games will be held in Iznik district of Bursa, Türkiye.

An elder from Uzbekistan proposed to organize the 14th meeting of the Council of Aksakals next year in Uzbekistan.

The participants of the meeting will discuss preparations for the Summit of the Heads of State to be held in Samarkand.

Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev drew attention to the fact that the summit will be held at a time when the world and the region are facing threats and challenges that have serious consequences, such as water and food shortages, a sharp rise in energy prices, global warming, mass migration, social inequality and discrimination.
