Uzbekistan, Poland implement new investment project

Polish investors have held meetings in a number of ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan, during which the issues of a project for production of seed potatoes by the in vitro method in Uzbekistan, in particular in Kitab district of Kashkadarya region, were discussed.

Polish businesspeople have held meetings at the ministries of investments and foreign trade, agriculture, as well as in Hokimiyat of Kashkadarya region.
 
First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Laziz Kudratov fully supported the project, noting that its implementation would make a significant contribution to ensuring the country’s food security.
 
Hokim of Kashkadarya region Zoyir Mirzayev also welcomed its implementation and assured that all conditions will be created and the area for seed potatoes will be allocated.
 
The project worth .5 million was approved by the Head of the state in December 2018. Partners from the Polish side are the Poland – Uzbekistan Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the COMPTA company, the Potato Center of the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute and the Potato Breeding Zamarte Ltd.
