Uzbekistan might open Russian universities’ branches

Online conference of university rectors of Uzbekistan and Russia was held on the initiative of organizations of higher education institutions’ system of the two countries.

The event was attended by rectors of more than 120 higher education institutions, as well as Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Abduvakhitov, Deputy Prime Minister B. Musayev, Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education I. Majidov, Head of Department of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation V. Chernov, Minister of Science and Higher Education V. Falkov.
 
The first results and prospects for implementation of bilateral agreements in higher education and science were discussed at the conference.
 
Initiatives were forwarded to open in Tashkent the branches of Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, the Center for Initial Engineering Training of Saint Petersburg Mining University and Tashkent branch of Saint Petersburg State University, as well as together with Moscow State University of Technology “STANKIN”, Tashkent State Technical University, Samarkand State University, Navoi State Mining Institute and Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute – to create Russia – Uzbekistan Scientific and Technological Training Center.
