Uzbekistan, Latvia delegations agree to enhance cooperation in transport and logistics

RIGA, January 25. /“Dunyo” IA/. On January 21, a meeting of plenipotentiaries of Uzbekistan and Latvia has been organized via videoconference to discuss the prospects for mutual investments and increasing the volume of exports of Uzbekistan products to the European market using the Latvian infrastructure, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Latvia, the parties exchanged views on the possibilities of strengthening practical cooperation with Latvia in the above areas.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov and Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of Latvia Uldis Reimanis addressed the event.

The participants confirmed their mutual interest in building up cooperation in transport and logistics. Practical aspects of interaction between specialized agencies and companies of Uzbekistan and Latvia were discussed.

Agreements were reached on the development of cooperation in cargo transportation, as well as the joint use of the possibilities of Latvian ports to increase the volume of exports of Uzbekistan products to the European market.
