Uzbekistan, Japan universities establish scientific and educational ties

Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan has organized a videoconference with participation of representatives of Saitama University and Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE), headed by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Dilorom Begmatova.

The leadership of the University, represented by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Professor Koki Hirota and Professor Hiroyuki Taguchi, expressed interest in establishing scientific and educational ties with higher education institutions of Uzbekistan within the framework of both short and long-term training programs.
 
The possibility of admitting Uzbekistan students to master’s and doctoral programs in two areas was noted: humanities and social sciences: Japanese and Asian studies (Master of Arts) and economics (Master of Economics), as well as science and engineering: civil engineering, social infrastructure, green and sustainable chemical technologies.
 
The parties also discussed the possibilities of cooperation within the framework of short-term student exchange programs (from 6 months to a year) and summer programs (up to 1 month).
 
The agreements reached by the parties following the negotiations provide for the beginning of interaction in terms of establishing contacts between responsible persons, as well as working out the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between Saitama University and TSUE.
