Uzbekistan, Japan discuss strategic partnership issues

TOKYO, February 3. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Gayrat Fazilov held virtual talks with Deputy Director-General/Deputy Assistant Minister of the Foreign Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Shuichi Tokuda, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Issues of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan were discussed at the meeting.

The parties expressed mutual interest in further enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Views were exchanged on the possibilities of further enhancing cooperation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

An agreement was reached to jointly work out measures previously outlined during the inter-MFA political consultations in December 2020, as well as to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the “Central Asia+Japan” Dialogue.
