Uzbekistan, Iran tourism business representatives agree to develop joint tour packages

TEHRAN, January 4. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Iran, together with the State Committee for Tourism Development, organized a virtual conference between representatives of Uzbekistan and Iran travel companies, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

At the event, prospects for cooperation between representatives of the tourism industry of the two countries to increase the tourist flow to the ancient cities of Uzbekistan were also discussed.

The videoconference was attended by the President of Iran Tour Operators’ Association Ebrahim Pourfaraj and his adviser Mahmoud Bonakdarnia, representatives of the Iranian airline Zagros Airlines and more than 20 leading profile companies of Iran, as well as heads of 15 Uzbekistan travel agencies.

At the meeting, the participants became familiar with the comprehensive measures taken to restore and develop the tourism sector of Uzbekistan in the context of a pandemic, actively promote the country’s image as a safe travel destination for the health of tourists.

The Iranian side, in turn, emphasized that taking into account the common history, traditions and culture of the two peoples, Uzbekistan and Iran should build up their ties in tourism. The ancient Uzbekistan cities Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva are very famous among the Iranians, and the architecture and culture of the two countries have always been very close in spirit.

The parties exchanged contacts between travel companies of the two countries, agreed to develop joint tour packages for various tourist destinations.
