UZBEKISTAN GOVERNMENTAL DELEGATION TO VISIT BRUSSELS

The governmental delegation of Uzbekistan, which includes the Deputy Prime Minister Tanzila Narbayeva and Minister of Employment and Labor Relations Sherzod Kudbiyev, as well as leaders of Uztuqimachiliksanoat and Uzbekiston Ipagi Associations, Trade Unions Federation will visit Brussels on April 1-3, 2019.

Representatives of Uzbekistan government responsible for the eradication of forced labor will attend discussion forum in Brussels on “How Uzbekistan eradicates child and forced labor in the cotton harvest”, organized jointly with International Labor Organization, the World Bank, the Embassies of Uzbekistan, the United States and Switzerland. The forum will bring together representatives of the European Commission, international non-governmental organizations, as well as labor and human rights NGOs, business and investment companies advocating for the eradication of child and forced labor in cotton production.

The program of the visit will include meetings with representatives of the leadership of the European Union, the Kingdom of Belgium, Human Rights Organizations, major European Associations of manufacturers, retailers and trade unions, as well as leading European brands.

The government delegation will also hold negotiations with General Secretary of International Trade Union Confederation Sharan Burrow, representatives of Human Rights Watch International NGO and other international institutions.
