Uzbekistan, Georgia Deputy Foreign Ministers consider cooperation issues

Uzbekistan – Georgia inter-MFA political consultations have taken place today via videoconference.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the delegations were headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Alexander Khvtisiashvili.
 
The parties discussed the current aspects of Uzbekistan – Georgia cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, transport, communication, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other areas, as well as interaction within international structures.
 
Mutual interest in actively promoting the economic diplomacy by facilitating the establishment of direct contacts between businesspeople of the two countries, creating favorable conditions for mutual trade and implementing joint investment projects for the production of competitive products was confirmed.
 
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan – Georgia inter-parliamentary dialogue has an important place in bilateral relations. The parties spoke in favor of further strengthening ties between the chambers of the legislative bodies of the two countries.
 
The need was noted for further building up cooperation in tourism. Specific proposals for the implementation of joint projects on a mutually beneficial basis were considered.
 
The parties focused on the importance of improving and expanding the legal framework.
