Uzbekistan, France develop cooperation in sanitation safety

Leadership of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Solidarity and Health of France has held virtual talks, during which they discussed measures to effectively combat the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as prospects for cooperation in sanitary security and public health.

 

An interest was expressed in establishing cooperation between the newly created Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health in Uzbekistan with the General Directorate of Health of the Ministry of Solidarity and Health of France, study and implementation of advanced French experience in sanitation safety and public health.
 
Director General of the General Directorate of Health of France, Jérôme Salomon, supported the proposal to establish cooperation and announced the sending of French COVID-19 Countermeasures Plan to the Uzbek side through diplomatic channels for further study and implementation.
 
Following the event, an agreement was reached on preparation of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the General Directorate of Health of the Ministry of Solidarity and Health of France and the Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health of Uzbekistan, which will cover all aspects of further partnership.
 
The parties also agreed to consider the issue of establishing scientific and educational cooperation in sanitation safety and maintain close contacts through holding regular videoconferences between leading experts of the two countries.
