On October 21-24, 2018, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by the Special Representative of the President for Afghanistan Ismatilla Irgashev visited the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with transport-communication projects, implemented on the border with Afghanistan, especially, infrastructure of Khaf – Herat new railway line, as well as, Chabakhar seaport capabilities.
Meetings and negotiations were also held with leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iran Railways Organization.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the sides discussed ways of contributing to solution of the Afghan problem, in particular, launching inter-Afghan peace negotiations, as well as prospects for cooperation in implementation of infrastructure projects in Afghanistan.
