UZBEKISTAN DELEGATION ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN VIENNA

Uzbekistan delegation, led by the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Muftiy Usmankhan Alimov and the Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers Jasur Akramov attended the international conference “From Interfaith & Inter-civilizational Cooperation to Human Solidarity”, in Vienna.

The conference was attended by about 300 government, public, academic and religious figures from over 30 countries, including leaders of five international and 16 non-governmental organizations, as well as representatives of the Austrian federal government and parliament, members of international organizations, religious denominations, embassy staff, accredited in Vienna.

In his speech, the Muftiy of Uzbekistan drew the participants’ attention to the large-scale reforms carried out under the leadership of the country's leader on the issues of preserving inter-religious harmony, enlightenment and cultural mutual enrichment.

Following the conference, the final Vienna Declaration was adopted. The document notes that continuous holding of such forums, which are important in terms of encouraging humanistic ideas and promoting multicultural lifestyle, is highly relevant and necessary.
