The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur hosted a presentation titled "Tabarruk Ziyorat", dedicated to showcasing the country’s potential in pilgrimage tourism, along with a B2B meeting between Uzbek and Malaysian tour operators

The event gathered representatives from over 20 Malaysian travel companies and the leadership of the Uzbek tour operator "Mercury Travel".

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, Karomiddin Gadoyev, provided participants with insights into the development of tourism in Uzbekistan, emphasizing the opportunities in pilgrimage tourism and measures to create favorable conditions for visitors. He highlighted the visa-free regime extended to citizens of over 90 countries, including Malaysia, as a key initiative to attract foreign tourists.

Participants were introduced to a wide range of services offered by Uzbek travel companies, including tourism programs focusing on the regions of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khorezm, and the city of Tashkent. Various travel packages were also highlighted, such as pilgrimage tourism, cultural tourism, gastro-tourism, and business tourism (MICE). The direct flights operated by Uzbekistan Airways between Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur were noted as a significant factor in boosting tourist exchanges between Central and Southeast Asia.

Emran Abd Wahid, Director of "Kembara Khalifah Travel", expressed his satisfaction with the growing collaboration. He shared that his company began offering travel packages to Uzbekistan this year and that he personally visited the country in late November 2024 as part of a group of Malaysian tourists. According to him, Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage, historic cities, sacred sites, and the hospitality of its people leave an indelible impression on visitors.

During the B2B meeting, specific agreements were reached to promote new pilgrimage travel packages in Malaysia extensively.

Fatima Zahra, a representative of Malaysia’s "Golden Destinations" travel company, remarked:

"Today’s presentation of Uzbekistan’s tourism products was highly engaging and valuable for Malaysia’s travel industry representatives.

I aim to bring a group of Malaysian tourists to Uzbekistan in the first half of 2025. Our travel company remains committed to promoting travel packages to Uzbekistan in Malaysia.

The direct flights connecting Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur provide great convenience for travel agencies like ours.

I believe such initiatives will significantly contribute to increasing the flow of Malaysian tourists to your country."
