Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have confirmed that they intend to build a common future

“Dunyo” IA/. Today, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks in an expanded format with the participation of delegations of the two countries, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our state, the President of Uzbekistan stressed the significant progress in all areas of multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

“Our history and the destinies of peoples are closely intertwined, we have been related for a long time, we solve pressing issues together”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.

The President of Uzbekistan noted with great satisfaction that events dedicated to the life and work of the great son of the Kazakh people, poet and thinker Abay Kunanbayev are currently being held throughout Uzbekistan.

Such events strengthen friendly ties, clearly demonstrating mutual interest in each other's glorious past and today's life.

“Today we are signing two historical documents. I would like to emphasize the Alliance Agreement, which meets the interests of both fraternal peoples and marks a new stage in the history of relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Alliance is the highest and most trusted level of interstate partnership. Thus, we confirmed that we intend to build a common future.

The agreement on the demarcation of the State border testifies to the strength of our ties, serves the cause of peace and security in the region. Our border has always been and remains the border of friendship and good neighborliness”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed.

The President of Kazakhstan noted with satisfaction the current highest level of bilateral relations.

“Relying on the historical community, fraternal ties of the peoples, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have built strong, harmonious relations”, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

He stressed that the agreements signed today open up new horizons and fully reflect the mutual desire of the two countries for further rapprochement.

The Leader of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his creative policy and a huge contribution to strengthening relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. He also expressed support for the constitutional reform being implemented on his initiative and confidence that it will lay a solid foundation for the development of Uzbekistan.

During the talks, it was noted that the core of bilateral cooperation is the economy and it is necessary to make more efforts to use the huge potential of the two countries.

Thus, over the past five years, the volume of mutual trade has more than doubled, and by the end of this year it will approach five billion dollars. To multiply the volume of trade turnover in the coming years by increasing mutual supplies of demanded products, an agreement was reached to form a working group headed by deputy prime ministers and create a joint foreign trade company.

Special attention was paid to the promotion of cooperation projects. It was noted with satisfaction that major projects in the energy, automotive, chemical, electrical, construction, logistics and others will be launched today.

“I am sure that the project of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation under consideration will become an important platform for generating new projects”, the Head of the state noted.

The necessity of maximizing the huge potential of interregional cooperation was noted. Thus, following the results of the business forum held on the eve, a solid package of new investment agreements and trade contracts worth over $ 8 billion was signed.

Another important area is energy. The heads of state agreed to promote projects on modernization and construction of energy capacities, geological exploration and deep processing of natural gas.

One of the key areas of interaction is the use and increase of transit potential.

“Today we have reached a stable growth in cargo transportation, we have agreed to mutually create favorable conditions for bilateral and transit transportation.

To multiply the volume of transported goods, we agreed to accelerate projects aimed at expanding the transport infrastructure”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed.

The Presidents noted the importance of further strengthening and expanding inter-parliamentary contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.

“It is necessary to use the capabilities of the Inter-Parliamentary Council to monitor the implementation of all agreements at the highest level”, the Leader of Uzbekistan noted.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude for the decision to establish a monument to the great Uzbek poet, statesman Alisher Navoi in the center of Astana.

“This is a vivid confirmation of the great respect for our common history and culture, a symbol of the inviolability of friendship between the two fraternal peoples”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed.

At the same time, the Head of the state proposed to organize joint research on the study and popularization of the common cultural-historical heritage, as well as to launch a joint information resource for this purpose, including TV, radio and a website, to publish books by our great writers and poets.

Following the talks, the governments of the two countries were instructed to take strict control over the implementation of all the reached agreements and agree on the corresponding roadmap.
