Uzbekistan delegation took part in the Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO Member States

TASHKENT, December 1. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, Uzbekistan delegation headed by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov has taken part in the Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the SCO Member States, via videoconference, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondents Muzaffar Kamilov, Zafar Yuldashkulov.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu.

The meeting was also attended by the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, Acting Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Andlib Abbas.

Representatives of the SCO observer states – Vice President of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh, Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Yangugiin Sodbaatar, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov and Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Jumahon Giyosov took part in the event.

At the meeting, the Uzbek side touched upon the measures that need to be taken to ensure the practical implementation of these initiatives. It was noted that the implementation of the proposals of the President of Uzbekistan will play an important role in ensuring the sustainable development of the SCO member states.

Prospects for deepening cooperation between the SCO member states in trade, economic and investment spheres, including the prospects for deepening cooperation to mitigate the consequences of a pandemic, the Action Plan for the implementation of the Multilateral Program of Trade and Economic Cooperation and other issues related to the activities of the organization, were discussed in detail.

Information on the activities of the SCO Business Council and Interbank Consortium was heard.

Following the meeting, a Joint Communiqué was adopted.

The next meeting will be held in 2021 under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan.
