The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, the Cultural Heritage Agency and the Hokimiyat of Samarkand region.
The exhibition is attended by artists from India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia and Tajikistan.
Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov noted that in preparation for the SCO Summit, systematic work is being carried out to reflect the “Spirit of Samarkand” in the works of SCO art masters.
“These initiatives were promoted by the President of Uzbekistan: foreign artists, sculptors and photographers were invited to Samarkand as part of the SCO Summit. For several days, local and foreign artists are reflecting the spirit of Samarkand in their works. These events are widely covered in the media”, Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
Following the event, its participants received diplomas and memorable prizes. The best works of artists will be presented in September at the SCO Summit in Samarkand.
