ISTANBUL, February 22. /“Dunyo” IA/. Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul hosted a roundtable discussion on the country’s tourism potential, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The event was organized to provide participants with detailed information on the development of tourism in Uzbekistan, reforms to attract foreign investment, benefits provided to travel agencies, measures taken in the country to ensure the safety of foreign visitors, and the potential of pilgrimage tourism.
The roundtable discussion was attended by representatives of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association of Turkey (MÜSİAD), the World Turkish Business Council, tourism structures, the media, as well as Uzbekistan Airways in Istanbul and Profi Travel.
Employees of the Consulate General presented information about the rich historical and cultural heritage, climate, national cuisine and hotels of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that in 2019-2021, over 1,500 hotels were built in the country, and today their total number has exceeded 2,400.
Representative of the Istanbul office of Uzbekistan Airways spoke in detail about the increase in the number of flights between Uzbekistan and Turkey, convenience for passengers and tourists, the procedure for charter flights, and the restrictions imposed in connection with the pandemic.
