Uzbekistan, Malaysia further develop cooperation in pilgrimage tourism

TASHKENT, May 6. /“Dunyo” IA/. On May 4, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov held talks with the Ambassador of Ziyorat Tourism of Uzbekistan, the Mufti of the State of Perlis, Mohd Asri Bin Zainul Abidin, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed the possibilities of enhancing cooperation to promote pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan.

The sides noted the importance of informing the Malaysian population about the Islamic cultural values and rich spiritual-historical heritage of Uzbekistan, and actively promoting the country in social networks as an attractive destination for tourists-pilgrims.

The Malaysian side highly appreciated measures taken in the country to ensure the safety of tourists in the context of the pandemic, in particular “Uzbekistan. Safe Travel Guaranteed” Project, aimed at providing the highest level of sanitary-epidemiological safety for tourists based on world standards.

Several agreements were reached following the negotiations.
