Uzbekistan, Malaysia enhance cooperation in training tourism professionals

KUALA LUMPUR, November 24. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, Ravshan Usmanov, has met with the Director General of the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, Mohmed Razip Haji Hassan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

At the meeting, the Malaysian side was informed about the current state and prospects for development of bilateral cooperation in tourism, the rich cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan, the unique and huge potential of its regions for the implementation of pilgrim tourism.

Mohmed Razip Haji Hassan noted that Uzbekistan has an advantage over other countries as an attractive destination for tourists from Malaysia, which lies in the rich and centuries-old history and culture of Uzbek people.

Following the meeting, a number of agreements were reached, in particular, on establishment of close cooperation between ITC and the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan with the subsequent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in tourism between the parties and holding a videoconference between them, as well as representatives of the Department for Tourism Development of Bukhara region to discuss specific mechanisms and areas of interaction.
