The working group, consisting of representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its Fergana regional administration, studied the preparedness of the region for the tourism season and its sanitary safety in terms of travel.

Fergana region has high potential not only in eco-, agro- and medical tourism, but also in crafts. Therefore, the working group visited Rishtan and examined the craftsmen mahalla there.

Rishtan is one of the oldest cities on the Great Silk Road in Fergana valley and Central Asia. This place is the largest center for production of unique glazed ceramics in Central Asia.

It should be noted that during the visit to Rishtan, the working group visited the houses of Alisher Nazirov, Said Ahmedov and Koron Ceramics center, where national handicraft products and souvenirs were examined. Handicraft products have been produced here since ancient times. The secrets of production are passed down from generation to generation.

Creating family guest houses in craftsmen houses is a great convenience for tourists visiting Rishtan, as they can live there, communicate with the owners and enjoy obtaining craft skills.

Representatives of the working group gave recommendations to artisans to provide safer and better services for tourists during the coronavirus pandemic. Their problems and plans were heard. Appropriate agreements were reached on necessary issues.
