The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development hosted the first working meeting with Tourism and Service Colleges Directors.
The meeting was attended by heads of colleges/technical schools, representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Tourism Development Institute and the Center for Certification of Tourism Services. The current state of colleges and technical schools of tourism and service, acquisition of material-technical base, quality of human resources, level and quality of graduates professional training were discussed at the meeting.
The meeting is aimed at establishing interaction mechanisms between the State Committee for Tourism Development, Tourism Development Institute and colleges/technical schools, resolving issues related to education process, additional acquisition of material-technical base, studying proposals for addressing pressing issues impeding the further improvement of colleges and technical schools, improving the quality of graduates and employment of future specialists at tourism enterprises.
The issue of participation of colleges/technical schools of tourism and service at Tourism on the Silk Road International Fair, which will be held on November 13-15, 2019, was also considered.
Following the meeting, a working group has been established to develop a roadmap action plan aimed at improving the quality of educational institutions, addressing the issue of recruitment of teaching staff, organizing practical laboratories, improving conditions of dormitories for students, attending World Skills National Championship.
