TOKYO, December 2. /“Dunyo” IA/. Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, together with the Mayor’s Office of Tokyo’s Suginami district, held a number of events dedicated to the rich culture and arts, as well as the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The events were attended by members of Tokyo public, including officials, cultural, educational, business and media communities.
Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan emphasized that Uzbekistan – Japan relations have a long history since the time of the Great Silk Road. History has preserved many unique facts of trade and spiritual exchanges between Uzbek and Japanese people.
Suginami District Mayor Ryo Tanaka noted that Host Town Olympic Village, located in Suginami, is a sports training base for Uzbekistan boxing athletes in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
