TASHKENT, December 10. /“Dunyo” IA/. Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks with the U.S. Ambassador Jonathan Henick, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, the prospects for the development of Uzbekistan – American relations in the Afghan direction.
The Ambassador highly appreciated the policy pursued by the leadership of Uzbekistan to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan people, and also outlined the importance of further close bilateral interaction on the peaceful settlement of the Afghan problem.
The parties agreed on the need for achieving national reconciliation in Afghanistan as soon as possible, as well as the fulfillment by the new authorities of the country of their obligations to the world community.
