The Silk Road Fund and ACWA Power finance the wind farm construction in Uzbekistan

Five major contracts were signed following the Beijing Financial Street Forum. For three days, 400 officials and experts of the forum discussed the financial prospects of the world’s second economy.

Among them is an investment agreement between the Chinese Silk Road Fund and ACWA Power from Saudi Arabia. The parties agreed to jointly finance a billion-dollar project for the construction of a wind farm in Uzbekistan.

The wind farm with a capacity of one and a half gigawatts in Karakalpakstan will become the largest in the world and will provide electricity to more than one and a half million households.
