The Badge “For human rights protection” approved

TASHKENT, November 5. / “Dunyo” IA. Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved the regulation “On the badge “For human rights protection”, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 22, 2020 “On approval of the National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights”, the lapel badge “For human rights protection” was established.

Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 3, 2020 approved the Regulation, description as well as ceritificate “For human rights protection” badge.

The purpose of establishing this badge is to provide material and moral incentives and rewards to citizens and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the protection of human rights and freedoms, to disseminate the example of those who set an example in their activities. It aims to strengthen the activities of government agencies, civil society institutions and citizens in the field of human rights.

The citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall be awarded with a badge for their service in the protection of human rights and freedoms, their activity in the promotion of human rights, human rights education, their contribution to the development of traditions of protection of human rights among youth, their significant achievements in the development and management of human rights organizations.

The badge can be awarded to foreign citizens and stateless persons, as well as organizations working in the field of human rights protection.

Approved badge and its ceritificate to be awarded each year on December 10 - International Human Rights Day for achievements relating to human rights and for promoting a culture of human rights.
