Tanzila Narbayeva: The need to strengthen trust and solidarity is increasing

/"Dunyo" IA/. The First Meeting of the Heads of Parliaments of the Member Countries of the Group of Friends of Neutrality took place.

The videoconference was organized by the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and is dedicated to the role of parliamentary cooperation in strengthening peace and dialogue.

The meeting was attended by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, speakers of parliaments from different countries, and representatives of international and regional organizations.

It was noted that the Group of Friends of Neutrality is essential in stimulating multilateral cooperation to strengthen peace, while parliamentarians, as legislators, play a key role in ensuring peaceful solutions, sustainable development, and global security.

"In the context of increasing challenges of our time, the need to strengthen trust and solidarity is growing increasingly", Tanzila Narbayeva noted. "Comprehensive provision of socio-economic stability, the development of foreign economic relations between countries are becoming key tasks of broad cooperation at the international level. We consider the meeting as an addition to the practical interaction of parliaments within the framework of a multilateral format and a means of involving them in discussing the most important issues in strengthening peace and dialogue, closely related to the stability and well-being of our countries".

The participants noted the importance of developing cooperation between the parliaments, stressing that this contributes to forming balanced decisions on current issues on the agenda and strengthening friendly relations.

Following the event, the final document of the First Meeting of the Heads of Parliaments of the Member Countries of the Group of Friends of Neutrality was adopted to promote parliamentary cooperation in the name of strengthening peace and dialogue.
