As is known, on May 19-21 this year, a meeting of the heads of ministries and agencies for physical culture and sports of the SCO member countries was held in Uzbekistan.
As part of the activities of the Organization, the foundation of the project “Sports Ambassadors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization” was laid.
“In connection with the next SCO Summit in Samarkand, an international event “Sports Ambassadors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization” will be organized. It aims to show that sport is an ambassador of peace not only in our country, but throughout the world. At the same time, sport is a bridge between member countries of the Organization. At the May meeting with the participation of the sports ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, an agreement was reached on several issues. In particular, about the exchange of experience between athletes of the SCO member countries, holding training camps. Leading athletes of the member countries of the Organization arrived in our country. Foreign guests and local athletes will perform. If at the previous SCO summits the focus was on economics, politics, culture, then at the upcoming summit, for the first time, attention will also be paid to sports. We can say that this is our great victory”, Deputy Minister of Sports Development Sh. Makhmudov noted at the conference.
