Uzbekistan’s Ambassador holds talks with UK Parliamentary Under Secretary of State

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UK Said Rustamov and British Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for European Neighbourhood and the Americas) Wendy Morton held a videoconference to discuss the current state and prospects for developing bilateral cooperation.

During the conversation, the parties considered issues on the bilateral agenda, in particular, joint efforts to effectively solve the problem of the COVID-19 pandemic, intensify political contacts and inter-parliamentary dialogue, assist in implementation of large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, further improve the legal framework for cooperation, intensify interaction within the framework of international organizations, primarily in the UN and its specialized structures.
 
British Parliamentary Under Secretary of State also informed about the success of the Global Vaccine Summit, held in early June at the initiative of the United Kingdom.
 
The Global Vaccine Summit, hosted by the UK, raised more than US$ 8.8 billion from 31 donor governments and 8 foundations, corporations and organizations to immunise 300 million children and support the global fight against COVID-19.
