The Center for the Study of Public Opinion, Ijtimoiy Fikr, just a few days to the outgoing year, conducted another poll in all regions and districts of our country in order to identify social well-being and moods. It was participated by city-dwellers and villagers, representatives of various ethnic and social groups, faiths, professions.

As the survey showed, for the absolute majority of our citizens (90.5%), 2017 turned out to be prosperous, saturated with positive changes in personal and family life. On the eve of the New Year, Uzbeks have an upbeat mood. Citizens associate this with the improvement of living conditions, confidence in the future and public stability in the country.

A sociological study showed that 83% of citizens consider themselves to be happy. They feel peace in the country, prosperity and love in the family, the health of their loved ones, the process of renewal that takes place in our society and inspires confidence in the future of the Motherland, family, children, grandchildren.

Most of our compatriots are quite satisfied with the way their lives are shaping up. More than 80% of them expressed their confidence that the upcoming 2018, called the Year of Support for Active Entrepreneurship, Innovative Ideas and Technologies, will become even more successful, and the set goals will be achieved without fail.

Fundamental positive changes in the life of the country, which occurred in 2017, according to citizens, are primarily related to the activities of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, with successful economic and political reforms initiated by the head of state. All this makes it possible to create a solid system of state administration capable of quickly responding to modern challenges and threats, ensuring the realization of the interests of every citizen and the society as a whole.

An important achievement of the past year, according to the residents of the country, is the introduction of a system of conducting an active and open dialogue with citizens through the Virtual Reception of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and people's reception offices in all regions, radically altering the interaction of state bodies with the population and becoming an effective mechanism for practical solution of each person’s problems.

According to respondents, our country in 2017 reached a radically new stage of its socio-political and socio-economic development. The new vision of state construction, the implementation of the program of real actions for the country's renewal, the Strategy of Action for the five priority development directions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, put forward by the head of state, found support among all sections of the country’s population.
