A videoconference in cardiac surgery has been held between representatives of Nantes University Hospital (France) and the Department of Operative and General Surgery of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, the ERA MED Medical Center and the Republican Public Children's Fund “Sen yolg'iz emassan”.
The event, organized with the support of the Embassy of France in Uzbekistan, was dedicated to the ongoing work in cardiac surgery in Uzbekistan for providing cardiac surgery assistance to children from orphanages and low-income families.
During a conversation with the faculty of the Department of Operative and General Surgery, French specialists shared their experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was noted that the recommendations in the form of “Protocols for the management of patients with congenital and acquired heart defects during a coronavirus pandemic” will be taken into account by Uzbek colleagues for implementation by doctors of cardiac surgery departments of hospitals. As noted by Uzbekistan specialists, the information obtained during the videoconference will also be used as a lecture manual for students of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute.
Regular contacts via videoconferences contribute to further establishment of scientific, educational and university cooperation between leading healthcare professionals of Uzbekistan and France.
