BEIJING, January 29. /“Dunyo” IA/. Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan and the International Poverty Reduction Center in China held a roundtable discussion with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The participants shared their experience in the fight against poverty, as well as information on priority tasks in this area. Special attention was paid to practical comprehensive measures taken on a systematic basis in Uzbekistan and China in the context of the pandemic.
Representatives of the International Poverty Reduction Center in China provided information about their activities in the preparation of scientific-applied research, conducting training and experience exchange programs, as well as implementing projects with foreign countries in poverty reduction. Chinese experts expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation with Uzbekistan partners in these areas by organizing mutual trips as the epidemiological situation improves.
At the event, it was noted that cooperation in poverty reduction is designed to further enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries under the agreements reached by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Xi Jinping. The parties expressed their readiness to sign an interdepartmental Memorandum of Cooperation, as well as to adopt a plan of joint practical measures for the coming years.
