In accordance with instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, given during previous visits, a monument to the great Chinese thinker Confucius was erected near Samarkand State University. Arbors in Chinese traditions have been erected on the square around the monument. The nine-storey educational administrative building of the university was renovated and equipped in accordance with the experience of prestigious foreign universities.
A center for international educational programs is being created here, where the best experience of universities of China, South Korea, Japan, India and the European Union will be studied.
The Head of the state became acquainted with the project of the center and gave relevant instructions to responsible persons. Projects for development of tourism, construction of a Congress Hall and hotels in Samarkand were presented.
The Confucius Institute and the Silk Road International Tourism University were opened in Samarkand at the initiative of the President.
