Director of National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N. F. Gamaleya, Alexander Ginzburg named the reason why new type of coronavirus vaccine will not yet be available for children.
According to A. Ginzburg, vaccine test on children and a new drug for them will be available after a full cycle of tests on adults. He also expressed hope that coronavirus vaccine will be available for children.
Vaccine trials for children can begin within six months after completion of adult trials. The scientist noted that such regulations are fixed in the current legislation.
On July 12, Russia completed testing of the world's first coronavirus vaccine, which was conducted at Sechenov University. The goal of this testing stage was to demonstrate the safety of drug for human health.
