Russia has launched the production of coronavirus vaccine.

National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N. F. Gamaleya, which registered the world's first COVID-19 vaccine, expects to produce it within 9-12 months in sufficient quantities to vaccinate the entire population of Russia.

According to the Director of the Center, Alexander Ginzburg, the first batch of the drug will be sent to ten or fifteen regions of Russia. Three companies were involved in mass production of the vaccine, which were engaged in production of drugs similar to new vaccine in terms of production technology.

Each company will be able to produce up to a million doses of vaccine every month.

Vaccinated people will be given two different components with a break of three weeks. Health workers and teachers will get the vaccine first.
