Israel celebrates Uzbek Language Day

Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel has held a virtual conference on the occasion of October 21 – Uzbek Language Day.

 

It was attended by representatives of Jewish communities and labor migrants from Uzbekistan. According to the Embassy, more than 100,000 Uzbek Jews live in Israel.
 
At the conference, the parties exchanged views on the customs and traditions, language, culture and values of the Uzbek people. Great thinker and poet Alisher Navoi’s contribution to formation and development of the spiritual world and language of the Uzbek people was noted. Poems of the brightest representatives of modern Uzbek national literature and poetry, Abdulla Aripov and Erkin Vakhidov, were read.
 
Participants of the event were informed about the importance and significance of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to radically increase the role and authority of the Uzbek language as the state language” of October 21, 2019.
