Interdistrict Centers of combined injuries and acute vascular diseases to be established in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A presidential resolution "On measures to further improve the quality of medical care provided to the population" was adopted.

According to the resolution, 35 Interdistrict Centers for Combined Injuries and Acute Vascular Diseases will be created during 2021–2022 as part of regional (city) medical associations.

In particular, the main tasks of the Centers are to determine:

- organization of the provision of emergency and specialized medical care to persons with concomitant injuries and patients suffering from acute vascular diseases in need of medical care; 

- provision of hemodialysis care to patients suffering from acute and chronic renal failure.

The Resolution established that: 

- Centers are allocated from fifty to sixty beds within the common beds of emergency medical care and general surgery departments, based on the population of the respective territory;

- additional staffing units of neurosurgeons, neurologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists-resuscitators and other specialists are introduced at the Centers within the staff of territorial health care institutions;

According to the Resolution, the Program of measures was approved to provide children, pregnant women, women of fertile age and lactating mothers with preventive special drugs on a free basis in 2021–2023.

The total amount of expenses allocated for the implementation of this program is 264.5 billion soums.

Also, from the 2021/2022 academic year, the activities of the departments of nephrology and hemodialysis will be organized in higher medical educational institutions.
