A Memorandum has been signed between the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and Alisher Usmanov’s charitable foundation “Art, Science and Sport” aimed at improving the quality of teaching the Russian language and general education subjects in Russian in Uzbekistan.
The document was signed by the First Deputy Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Usman Sharifkhojayev and the First Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Dmitry Glushko.
The operators of the program are the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia and the Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training of Public Education Workers named after A. Avloni, which will coordinate the entire process.
The founder of the “Art, Science and Sport” charitable foundation, Alisher Usmanov, sent a video message to the event participants. He noted that Russia and Uzbekistan are closely interconnected by common history and cultural heritage.
“I myself graduated from a school with Russian as the language of instruction, and therefore I am very pleased to support a long-term and strategic initiative. I believe that this will serve to support not only education, but also common traditions and talents. This initiative will be successful and will be well received by Uzbekistan people, so I wish it great success”, he said.
