/IA "Dunyo"/. Today, Russian Ambassador Oleg Malginov was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, reports a correspondent of "Dunyo" information agency.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the representative of Russia was informed in principle that in our country the statement of the co-chairman of the party "A Just Russia - For Truth" Zakhar Prilepin at a conference in the press center "Russia Today" with a proposal to join territory of Uzbekistan to Russia.
It is stated that such rash statements by party leaders of such a friendly country as the Russian Federation, unfortunately, do not correspond to the spirit of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
Such statements, while widely disseminated in the Russian media, are deliberately provocative in nature and can negatively affect the established historically friendly relations between our peoples.
In turn, Oleg Malginov stated with full responsibility that Zakhar Prilepin’s statements have nothing even remotely to do with the official position of the leadership of the Russian Federation regarding a friendly and independent Uzbekistan.
As the representative of Russia in Uzbekistan, the ambassador emphasized that "in his country the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Uzbekistan have never been questioned."
Oleg Malginov also noted that the Russian Foreign Ministry plans to comment on this incident in the near future.
