Quva exports 3 thousand tons of pomegranates

Quva pomegranates are exported to South Korea, China, Russia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan.

 

To date, more than 3 thousand tons of pomegranates ripened in Fergana gardens have been exported.
 
Since ancient times, pomegranates have been considered a huge source of income, a rare and healing boon. The beneficial properties are recognized by both modern medicine and traditional healers. There is a high demand for this fruit in the world market. Therefore, special attention is paid to the expansion of pomegranate plantings, the creation of high-yielding and early maturing varieties. To date, 1,400 hectares of new pomegranate orchards have been created in Rishtan and Oltiariq districts.
 
By 2025, the pomegranate sown area in the region will reach 20 thousand hectares and more than 200 thousand tons of pomegranates will be grown annually. This will allow to export over 120 thousand tons per season.
