31.07.2020 09:53
Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely, wholeheartedly congratulated the entire Muslim Ummah of the country and all the people on the holy holiday Qurban Hayit (Eid al-Adha), expressed his best wishes.

The President noted that this wonderful holiday, which has a special place in our spiritual life, is a symbol of kindness, mutual understanding and tolerance. He wished all people of Uzbekistan health, happiness, peace and prosperity.

“Today, good deeds, mutual assistance, charity and generosity, preservation of peace and tranquility are particularly relevant. It is these high spiritual values that give all of us even more strength and energy, endurance and perseverance”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.

Despite the necessary measures taken by the state and society, unfortunately, there are cases of death from coronavirus infection. The President expressed his sincerest condolences and deep sympathy to families and relatives of compatriots whose lives were taken by this insidious disease.

“We are all well aware that due to the pandemic, we have had to impose certain restrictions on holding mass events, including religious ceremonies on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

“Generosity and Support” Nationwide Movement organized in Uzbekistan has become a truly powerful force. This is clearly evidenced by the huge charity work and numerous events carried out within the framework of the movement in a short period of time.

As a logical continuation of all this work and to further strengthen the state's support for low-income segments of the population and families that do not have a permanent source of income and need assistance, as well as economy, I have signed a Decree according to which about 2.5 trillion UZS will be allocated from the national budget for these purposes in addition to 10 trillion UZS previously allocated.

At the same time, to encourage representatives of religious and spiritual sphere who widely promote the ideas of peace, friendship, charity and harmony, as well as to raise local charity work to a new level and increase the effectiveness of large-scale events held on the basis of the principle of “enlightenment against ignorance”, funds in the amount of 150 billion UZS will be allocated to Waqf Charitable Public Foundation under the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan” said the President.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated people of the Muslim countries of the near and far abroad, all friends and partners, wished them peace and progress.
