Uzbekistan, Tajikistan Prime Ministers meet in Dushanbe

Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have met in Dushanbe.

Abdulla Aripov thanked his Tajik colleague for the warm and cordial welcome, noting that this meeting is a good opportunity to discuss the current state and prospects of cooperation.
 
Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda noted that strong cooperation has been established between the two countries in a short period of time and that this visit is a logical continuation of the steadily strengthening mutually beneficial and active dialogue.
 
The talks continued in an expanded format with participation of representatives of the two governments.
 
Over the past three years the trade turnover has exceeded 2.4 times. Despite the pandemic, bilateral trade grew by 4.3% compared to the corresponding period last year, and amounted to 7 million.
 
The current state and prospects of cooperation in trade, economic, transport, communication, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in agriculture and water management were discussed at the meeting.
 
Following the meeting, the parties signed the Protocol of the 7th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
